DOVER, Del. (Mar. 21, 2010) – The Saint Francis softball team fell behind early in both games on the day, and never recovered in a pair of losses against Binghamton, 9-1 and 7-0, to conclude play at the Delaware State Demarini Capital Classic.
The Bearcats scored three runs in the second inning of the day's first game. The Red Flash manufactured a run in the bottom of the third inning to cut it to 3-1, but Binghamton scored six unanswered runs to put it out of reach.
With its two wins on Day 1 of the tournament, Saint Francis earned itself a rematch with the Bearcats in the championship game. However, Binghamton scored all of its runs in the first three innings, and SFU's offense never got going.
