ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2010) –
The Saint Francis men's soccer team couldn't capitalize on its chances in dropping a tough 1-0 decision at St. Bonaventure, on Sunday afternoon at McGraw-Jennings Field.
The Red Flash dropped their second straight match to fall to 2-2 on the season. They will try to get back on the winning track when IPFW visits Loretto at 1 p.m. on Friday.
The Bonnies took a 1-0 lead in the 20
th minute when Emmett O'Connor scored the game's only goal. He put the ball just under the crossbar from the top of the 18-yard box.
SFU had its best chance when senior
Patrick Fleming (Dunedin, New Zealand/Bayfield) (Dunedin, New Zealand / Bayfield) curved a shot just outside the right post with under four minutes remaining in the contest.
St. Bonaventure held a 15-11 advantage in shots, and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. SFU had seven fouls, while the Bonnies had five.
Fleming led the Red Flash with three shots, and senior
