SFU Announces Promotion of Jim Brazill to Assistant Director of Athletics

LORETTO, Pa. (July 16, 2009) – Saint Francis University Director of Athletics Bob Krimmel has announced the promotion of Jim Brazill to the newly created position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing, Promotions and Athletics Communications.

Brazill has been employed at the university since the beginning of the 2005-06 athletics season, and has served in the role of Director of External Affairs for Athletics.

In his new position as Assistant Director of Athletics, Brazill will oversee all fund raising operations, including the Stokes Club and Red Flash Future, in addition to corporate sponsorships, department of athletics promotions, athletics communications, and the Red Flash pep band and cheerleaders. He will also be involved in event management.

“In determining how to best utilize the talents of our staff and to enhance the operation of the Department of Athletics, it became clear that Jim Brazill was the person to lead us in a positive direction in this new position in our department,” Krimmel said. “Jim's work ethic, integrity, ability to establish rapport and leadership skills will enhance the operation of the department and further strengthen our administrative structure.”

Brazill joined the Red Flash athletics family in August of 2005 after serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Johnstown Chiefs Professional Hockey Team. He spent nearly 13 years with the organization, working his way up to Vice President and General Manager after joining the team as an intern in December of 1992.

Brazill is a graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he received his bachelor of science in Physical Education/Sport Management in May of 1993.
