DiGiorgio paces SFU men in first day at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. (March, 25, 2011)
– Junior Brent DiGiorgio (Armagh, Pa./United) led the way among Saint Francis University participants on the first day of the adidas Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Friday, as the Red Flash got their 2011 outdoor campaign underway.

DiGiorgio paced SFU's three 5,000-meter runners on the day with a 19th-place time of 15:26.77 in the section three race. Sophomore Shaun Foley (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) turned in a 15:35.97 to take 17th in section IV, while senior Andrew Brown (Ebensburg, PA/Northern Cambria) nailed down a 16th-place time of 16:37.36 in section V of the event.

Freshman Cedric Forbes (Corning, N.Y./Corning ) kicked off his first spring with the Flash, with a time of 56.92 in the 400-meter hurdles (43rd place).

In the discus throw, junior Terry Bookhamer (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) registered a toss of 41.58 meters to clinch 25th place in a field of 51.

Saturday's action at the adidas Raleigh Relays gets underway at 9:45 a.m.
