Flash fall to Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2011)
– The Saint Francis University women's volleyball team suffered a straight sets loss (25-15, 25-15, 25-16) at the hands of Lehigh Friday night as they began the two-day Lehigh and Lafayette tournament.

The Red Flash (4-9) played tight and even with the Mountain Hawks (5-5) through the beginning of each of the three sets, but Lehigh began to pull away halfway through each set to give them the three sets to none victory.

Sophomore outside hitter Leeanne Haus (Mars, Pa./North Allegheny) posted a team-high nine kills in the match and classmate libero Brittany Stambaugh (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) matched that number with a team-high nine digs. Setter Logan Meinert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) registered 19 assists.

Saint Francis is set to be in action again tomorrow as head coach Chuck Mullen will try again for his 100th career win. At 12:30 p.m. the Red Flash do battle with Hartford and conclude the day and the tournament with a 3 p.m. matchup against co-tournament host Lafayette.
