LORETTO, Pa. (Aug. 31, 2012) – The Saint Francis University women's basketball team announced its regular season schedule for the 2012-13 season, Friday.
“The schedule we have put together, non-conference wise, should really challenge our team and prepare them for Northeast Conference play,” head women's basketball coach
Joe Haigh said. “NEC play is always tough and we have some very good teams in our league and I look forward to seeing how our squad measures up.”
SFU finished the 2011-12 season with a 14-16 overall record including an 11-7 mark in the Northeast Conference. The Red Flash fell in the first round of the NEC Tournament to the Colonials of Robert Morris. Following the season, Susan Robinson Fruchtl left the program for Providence College opening the door for Haigh. Expectations will be high in season one under Haigh as SFU returns its top scorers'
Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) and
Nickia Gibbs (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) as well as
Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), who earned All-NEC Rookie Team honors. The Flash will also receive a boast with the return of
