The Red and White jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, winning the first set (25-23). SFU stood strong through 11 ties and three lead changes, besting Central Connecticut off a smash from
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood).
Trailing 1-0, the Blue Devils charged back, downing the Red Flash in the last three sets (25-16,25-10,25-11). Saint Francis struggled to match Central Connecticut's intensity towards the end of the game, leading to their fourth conference loss.
Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) was the only Frankie to record double-digits in kills, tallying a game-high 14.
Breanna Kochinsky (Nicktown, Pa./Northern Cambria) also marked a game-high in digs, with 22.
Logan Meinert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Red Flash with 27 assists.
As a team SFU complied 45 digs, three service aces, and 36 kills.
