BOX SCORE BROOKLYN, N.Y. – (Nov. 10, 2013) A trio of Red Flash players collected double digit kill performances as the Flash down the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers, 3-1.
After edging the Terriers (6-24; 2-10) out in the first set, 26-24, Saint Francis (4-21; 4-8) dropped the second set to SFB, 25-17, tying the match at one set apiece. SFU made quick work of the Terriers in the third set forcing a timeout after a, 10-2, opening run. The Frankies continued to distance themselves from the home squad winning, 25-16. The forth set did not open up until mid-way through the match when SFU when on a 8-3 run, setting up a, 14-10 advantage for the Flash. The Red and White put away the Terriers on a service error by Kelly O'Halloran, giving the visiting Red Flash a, 25-18, victory.
Sophie Murdock (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion ) totaled a team-high 13 kills, while
Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) and
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) both recorded 11 kills each. Two Saint Francis defenders marked double-digit performances in digs;
Breanna Kochinsky (Nicktown, Pa./Northern Cambria) tallied 26 while Kutny totaled 18.
Logan Meinert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) set a season-best in assists accumulating 44 on the afternoon.
Saint Francis remains in fifth place in the Northeast Conference standings, just three games behind the Colonials of Robert Morris.
SFU returns to action on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. when they host Fairleigh Dickinson Knights.
