Bronx, N.Y. – (Nov. 23, 2013) Kylie Jackson (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) ended out the season with a top 15 performance at the 105th IC4A / 29th ECAC Cross Country Championships. Jackson completed the 5k course 16 seconds under the 19-minute barrier, guiding the Red Flash to an 11th place finish.
"It was good to end a strong season on a high note," said head coach
Douglas Hoover. "Our program made significant strides this season and laid the foundation for the future."
Senior Felisha Wright ended her cross-country career at SFU placing in the top 50 at the meet with a 19:30 finish. Just breaking the 20-minute barrier was sophomore
Madeline Berry (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) who had a notable third place showing at the Championship.
The second pack of Flash runners was led by Senior
Colleen Kelly (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle). The trio consisted of Kelly,
Madison Fiaschetti (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), and
Katee Gresko (Clymer, Pa./Penns Manor). They worked together throughout the race to finish within three seconds of each other.
"I'm so happy and proud of our graduating seniors," said coach Hoover. "We're grateful to them for all that they have sacrificed for their teams and teammates."
The Saint Francis women's cross country team returns to action next fall.
