BOX SCORE UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (April 9, 2013) – Playing in a make-up game Tuesday night, the Saint Francis U softball team dropped a 4-1 decision to Penn State on the road.
Cassidy Bell connected on a solo shot to right field in the bottom of the first that gave Penn State (9-23) the early one-run lead in the game. In the third with a runner in scoring position, the Red Flash (16-16) took advantage of a throwing error by PSU's third baseman that tied the game at 1-1.

Samantha Thomas (Sterling, Va./Park View) and
Davina Kachnovitz (Bear, Del./Glasgow) collected hits in the top of the seventh but were left stranded on the base paths to end the game in a 4-1 Nittany Lion favor.
