BOX SCORE LORETTO, Pa. – (Sept. 22, 2013) The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team struggled to gain any momentum inside the Maurice Stokes Athletic Center as Eastern Kentucky defeated the Red Flash 3-1.
Eastern Kentucky (5-6) jumped out to an early 2-0 set lead winning 25-11 and 25-13. Saint Francis (0-13) controlled the third set winning 25-20 under great all-around play by the Red and White. The Red Flash managed a .256 hitting percentage in the third set while surrendering the lead two times.
The fourth set provided much more excitement, but the results proved to be identical to the first two sets. The Frankies had an early lead, but watched it dwindle away as the Colonials powered past the Red and White 25-19 to win the match.
Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) finished with a team-high 10 kills, while
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) tacked on seven. Junior
