BOX SCORE LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 18, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team fell to the hands of Northeast Conference foe LIU Brooklyn 3-0 Saturday afternoon within the confines of DeGol Arena. The Flash now hold 3-3 mark in conference play going into Sunday's game. SFU hosts St. Francis Brooklyn tomorrow the 18th of Oct. at 1 p.m. The Terriers are currently on a 15 game win-less streak.
LIU Brooklyn made quick work of the Red Flash in the first set holding SFU to 10 points in a 25-10 win.
Saint Francis kept the second set close, but eventually fell to the vicious LIU offensive attack 25-17.
Following a 10 minute intermission the Flash battled back-and-forth with the Blackbirds. The Blackbirds never controlled the third set as the Flash forced 12 ties and seven lead changes. Late in the third set LIU made one final surge, ousting the Flash 25-21 to win the game.
LIU remains undefeated in NEC play, improving to 6-0.
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood),
Breanna Opera (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster ), and
Chelsea Easter (Burlington, Ontario, Canada/Notre Dame Roman Catholic) all recorded five kills apiece for the Flash. Easter led the team with six points. Senior
Alanna Blenkarn (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) totaled 18 assists in the contest.
