BOX SCORE OLEAN, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2014) -- On a rainy Friday afternoon the Saint Francis U men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at the Marra Athletic Complex.
The first half proved to be a scoreless affair. SFU (6-4-1) led the Bonnies (1-5-0) in corner kicks four to three, while both teams took three shots apiece.
The Red Flash struck first in the 60th minute.
Andres Vega (Managua, Nicaragua/Colegio Centro America) headed a deflected ball from the top of the box into the St. Bonaventure goal, beating the keeper bottom right. Vegas' goal gave the Red Flash a 1-0 advantage.
The Bonnies responded in the 72nd minute with a goal of their own. Five minutes later St. Bonaventure took the lead as Nicholas Perillo scored on a rebound from a ball punched out by SFU keeper

Saint Francis held a 5-to-4 advantage over the Bonnies on shots on goal.
Vega came off the bench in the contest, pocketing his second goal of the season.
Pablo Medina (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academies) managed two shots on goal in the loss.

The Red Flash continue their three game road trip by opening Northeast Conference play against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
