BOX SCORE SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Oct. 4, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 contest to the Bryant Bulldogs Saturday afternoon.
 
The Bulldogs (5-16; 1-1) handed the Red Flash (6-11; 2-1) their first Northeast Conference loss of the season.
 
Saint Francis held an early led over Bryant winning the first set 25-22.  The Bulldogs responded quickly winning the second set 25-17.

SFU once again took the led in the third set winning 25-17, but failed to close off the Bulldogs as they won the fourth and fifth set.
 
Captain Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) led the Frankies on the attack totaling 19 kills; she also chipped in 19 digs.  Senior Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) registered double-digit numbers in kills with 15.
 
Alanna Blenkarn (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) marked 46 assists, eight digs, and two block assists in the contest.
 
Saint Francis continues NEC play at 1 p.m. tomorrow Oct. 5 against the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils.
