LIU Brooklyn Halts Red Flash, 3-0

BOX SCORE BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 contest to the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds Saturday afternoon. The Blackbirds (22-6; 13-0) remain undefeated in Northeast Conference play.

The Red Flash (11-16; 7-6) clinched a NEC playoff spot early last week and look to secure the No. 3 seed position tomorrow at 1 p.m. against St. Francis Brooklyn. Tomorrows game will conclude the 2014 regular season for the Frankies.

LIU jumped out to an early 1-0 set lead winning the first set 25-15, but struggled to put away the Red Flash in the second and third set.

The Red Flash inched closer and closer to solving the LIU attack in the second and third sets, but could not close the gap on the Blackbirds losing 25-18 and 25-21.

Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) led the Flash in kills with 11. Breanna Opera (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster ) contributed seven kills and six digs to lead the SFU squad with 13 points. Kutny recorded 11 points.

Saint Francis matched the Blackbirds in service aces, both teams had eight apiece.
