BOX SCORE LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 2, 2014) -- The Saint Francis women's volleyball team picked up their seventh Northeast Conference win Sunday afternoon shutting out the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils 3-0 on senior day.
 
The Flash surrendered the lead four times during the three sets, giving the Blue Devils a heavy dose of the Red Flash offensive attack.
 
The Red Flash won the first set 25-17 off a Blue Devil attacking error.
 
SFU pulled away late in the second set stringing together a late run following a CCSU timeout.
 
Central Connecticut led the third set early on, but failed to slip past the Flash. SFU won the match off a Breanna Opera (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster ) kill.
 
Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) led the flash with 17 kills, while also tallying 16 digs. Senior Alanna Blenkarn (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) recorded 41 assists in the contest. Maria Cup (Chesterland, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) led the way on the defensive side of the ball with seven block assists.
 
Saint Francis continues NEC play Nov. 8 against Robert Morris.
