Football Game at Sacred Heart on ESPN3

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis football team will be featured on ESPN3 for its Oct. 25 game at Sacred Heart, the Northeast Conference announced today.

The Red Flash will face the defending NEC champions in Sacred Heart as the Pioneers finished with a 10-3 overall record and a 4-2 conference mark. The Pioneers feature the reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Year and a 2014 Walter Payton Award watch list member in running back Keshaudas Spence. The Flash handed Sacred Heart one of its two losses in conference play last year, defeating the Pioneers, 24-10, on Homecoming.

Saint Francis returns eight starters to each side of the ball in 2014, including three College Football Performance Awards watch list selections on defense.

Bishop Neal (Clairton, Pa./Clairton) was named to the Linebacker Award list after leading the Red Flash and finishing fifth in the NEC with 79 tackles. He also was fourth in the league with 16.5 tackles for loss, good for 12th in the nation and fourth in the NEC in that category. Defensive backs DaQuan Minter (Johnstown, Pa./Greater Johnstown) and Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) both made the watch list at their position in the secondary. Each finished with six interceptions to tie for third in the FCS.

The NEC will have seven games on ESPN3, kicking off Oct. 11 and concluding Nov. 22.

Paul Dottino, who has covered football for over 30 years and is a current member of the New York Giants Radio Network, will handle play-by-play duties for the 12th consecutive season.

The game at Sacred Heart is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff. The Red Flash opens the 2014 season at Fordham on Aug. 30.
