Saint Francis Trap Grizzlies, 3-1

BOX SCORE MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (Sept. 12, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team began the West Virginia Volleyball Tournament with a 3-1 win over the University of Montana Grizzlies.
 
The Red Flash (3-5) won the first set 25-22 fighting off several late rallies by the Grizzlies (0-7). Montana came within two points of the Flash 24-22 before an errand serve ended the Grizzlies rally.
 
Montana surged back into the contest claiming the second set 25-23. Saint Francis answered the Grizzlies rally winning the third and fourth sets 25-20. Freshman Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) completed a 3-0 fourth set rally warranting Saint Francis their third victory of the season.
 
Marcinowski recorded a team-high in kills with 15 she also stated 10 digs. Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) marked a double-digit performance in kills 11 and digs with 14.
 
Freshman Jenna Veres (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) marked a team-high 15 digs, while senior Alanna Blenkarn (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) recorded 38 assists in the Frankies victory.  
 
The Red Flash returns to action at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon against Kent State.
