BOX SCORE 2 MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (Sept. 13, 2014) -- The Saint Francis U women's volleyball team closed out the West Virginia Volleyball tournament with a pair of losses.
The Red Flash dropped Saturday's first match 3-1 to the host, West Virginia.
The Mountaineers won the first two sets of the contest (25-17, 25-16).
Saint Francis responded to the West Virginia offensive attack by winning the third set 27-25 forcing a fourth set.
The Flash failed to find their third set form, losing the fourth and final set 25-15.
Freshman
Jenna Veres (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) dug a match-high 26 digs in the loss.
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) and freshman
Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) each recorded 14 kills for the Flash.
Saint Francis matched up against Seton Hall in their final game of the WVU Volleyball tournament.
Seton Hall made quick work of the Flash winning the first two sets (25-16, 25-15). The Pirates continued to thrive downing SFU in the final set 30-28.
Veres marked a match-high 18 digs in the contest. She tallied 75 digs in the WVU tournament.
Saint Francis returns home for five straight games, beginning with the Red Flash Classic on Sept. 19.
