Four Score in Double Figures in 75-68 Flash Win

LORETTO, Pa. – Four Saint Francis players scored in double figures while two more finished with nine points in the Red Flash's 75-68 victory over Bryant on Thursday night at DeGol Arena. Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) led the charge with a team-high 19 points.

The Flash shot 56.3 percent from the field for the game, its third highest total of the season. The Flash used 12 fast break points and five three pointers in the first half to take a 37-35 lead into the break. Basil Thompson (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter)'s layup with 2:42 left in the half finished a 6-0 run and gave the Flash its largest lead to that point, 34-26. The freshman finished with nine points and four rebounds, each tying his career high.

The Flash (11-9, 5-4) opened the second half on a 16-6 run to push its lead to 53-41 with 14:22 to play. Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) hit a three pointer during the stretch as he finished with 10 points and six rebounds. He's now surpassed 700 points for his career. Bryant answered with an 8-0 run fueled by a 6-for-6 streak from the free throw line to cut the Flash lead to 55-52 with 9:47 to play.

SFU held the lead but never managed to push it beyond two possessions over the next several minutes. Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in the game, and his triple with 6:40 to play put the Flash ahead, 62-56. But Joe O'Shea's three pointer with 3:08 to play pulled the Bulldogs to within one, 64-63.

After two Flash free throws, Bryant's Dyami Starks took a three to tie, but it was off the mark. The Flash found Dominique Major (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) in transition, and his triple from the left corner was true. The six-point swing gave the Flash a 69-63 lead with 1:52 to play. Major finished with nine points.

But two free throws and a Shane McLaughlin three pointer again pulled the Bulldogs to within a point with 1:06 to play. But that would be the final Bryant points of the game. The Flash made all six of its free throws in the final 35 seconds to salt away the victory.

Malik Harmon (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) (12) and Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) (10) were the Flash's other two double-digit scorers. The Flash finished with a 17-0 edge in fast break points and doubled up the Bulldogs in the paint, 32-16. SFU moved to 10-1 in games this season in which it scores at least 60 points.

In breaking its longest losing streak of the season at three games, the Flash now has 11 wins this year. That gives the team as many as its had in a season for the first time since 2009-10.
"I'm proud of the way the guys were able to bounce back after a tough stretch," head coach Rob Krimmel said.

The Red Flash will look for win No. 12 on Saturday against Fairleigh Dickinson at 4:00 p.m.
