Saint Francis Rolls to Win in Reading on Sunday

READING, Pa - The Saint Francis bowling team grabbed the lead in game 2 in today's traditional game format by throwing a 1082 and sustained their lead through the end of the fifth and final match at Colonial Berks Lane in Reading. The Red Flash topped the 14-team field competing on Sunday.

Ashley Howe-Yorio (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) led the Red Flash with a 206.6 traditional average. For the second day, she earned the Most Valuable Player honors with the highest average in the tournament. Sarah Ross (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) finished second behind Howe-Yorio with a 202.6 average.

"Today saw an improvement in play. We did a better job recognizing transitions and then executing. We are a tight team and have a good communication and support of each other. It was a good team win," Coach Tom Falbo said.

Coach Falbo would go on to say, "Ashley picked up right where she left off on Saturday. She made the right decisions early then kept her foot on the gas the rest of day. With Sarah, she managed the physical aspect of her game well which unleashed how well she is able to execute."

The Red Flash will have the next week off, returning to action on action on Oct. 30 – Nov. 1 at Caroline Lanes in North Brunswick, NJ for the New Jersey Jamboree.
