LORETTO, PA.- The Saint Francis volleyball team is back home this weekend, hosting their first double header conference weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
The Red Flash welcome in Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday and Sacred Heart on Sunday. Both matches start at 1pm.
ABOUT THE FLASHSaint Francis is coming off a 1-1 weekend in Brookyln where they topped St. Francis Brooklyn and fell to LIU.
Hannah Kutny (Clifton Park, N.Y./Catholic Central) earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording a team-high 31 digs across the two matches. She had a match-high 21 digs against SFBK and averaged 4.33 digs per set on the weekend.
Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) had 17 digs against LIU and nearly had a double-double against SFBK with 11 kills and nine digs.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTSThe Knights are 0-3 in NEC play after dropping matches to Sacred Heart, Bryant and Central Connecticut. They are 6-10 overall on the season. Four players have over 100 kills on the season, led by Alex Lolland with 129. Four players have over 100 digs, led by Core Lostetter with 198. SFU owns the lifetime series with a 26-23 record all-time.
ABOUT THE PIONEERSSHU comes into the weekend at 3-0 in the NEC defeating FDU, Bryant and Central Connecticut. They lead the NEC with a .240 hit percentage and Sarah Krufka leads SHU with 232 kills on the season. Two more players have over 150 kills to give the Pioneers a balanced offense. Ana Gonzalez leads the Pioneers with 172 digs.
