LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis junior
Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) was selected a Second Team All-American as a kick returner by STATS FCS. Jerome is the fifth Red Flash to be named an All-American since 2007.
The Florida native led the FCS in kick return average, with 31.2 yards per return. Jerome totaled 531 yards on 17 returns, including two touchdowns. He led the FCS in return average from the second week of the season on.
The junior set a school-record at Towson with a 99-yard touchdown return. That was the longest kick return and longest play in program history. Jerome had four returns in that game for 181 yards, averaging 45.25 yards per return.
Three weeks later, Jerome returned the opening kickoff 98-yards for a score.
He also had 78 yards on four returns at Youngstown State and a return of 41 yards vs. Wagner.
Including punt return and interception return yards, Jerome totaled 747 all-purpose yards.

Chris Villarrial, went 7-4 this season, including 4-2 in the NEC. The Red Flash earned its first winning season since 1992 and reached seven wins in a season for the fifth time in program history.
