GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 14, 2015) – The Saint Francis University softball team dominated Coppin State 16-5 in its opening game Saturday at the Aggie Invitational at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex.

The Red Flash (3-0) held a 15-2 lead through three innings. Sophomore Alexis Bower smacked a bases-clearing double as part of SFU's 10-run bottom of the third. Senior Taylor Parsons, who walked in a run in the early spurt, picked up another RBI for SFU's 15th run when she reached first. Redshirt freshman Nicole Paiotti singled home freshman Jordan Seneca (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) for the Flash's first run of the inning.

Saint Francis jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings, but Coppin State cut the deficit to three with a two-run home run in the top of the third.

Redshirt sophomore Ketarah DeVries pitched into the fourth inning but left with the score 15-4. Redshirt junior Chelsea Rex finished out the inning with two strikeouts while allowing a run that made it 15-5.

Freshman Madison Cabell stole home to set the final in the bottom of the fourth.

In SFU's second game of the day, Morgan State led the Flash 2-1 before the game was stopped due to darkness. Parsons doubled home senior Lindsey Reid in the top of the third in that one.

The Flash face Morgan State again Sunday morning at 10:30 to close out their time in the Aggie Invitational.
