ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 10, 2015) – Saint Francis U women's basketball senior captain
Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) will travel to Florida in early April to compete in the invitation-only 2015 ProHoops WNBA Combine in preparation for the WNBA Draft.

The exclusive combine is set for Saturday, April 4, at Eckerd College. It is held in conjunction with the Women's Final Four and offers the top college seniors in the country and other professional players the opportunity to be evaluated by WNBA coaches and personnel before the upcoming draft.

"It's an honor to be invited to Florida to play in front of scouts from all over the world. I never would have imagined this opportunity being presented to me and I am so grateful for it! I hope to head down south and represent Saint Francis University in a positive way," Hayward said about the invitation.

An All-NEC Second Team member, Hayward finished the regular season ranked fourth in the NCAA in scoring at 23.2 points per game. She led the Northeast Conference in three-point field goals made with 82.

The Beaver Falls, Pa. native was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and a Senior CLASS Award finalist during the season. Fans can continue to vote for Alexa until March 23rd

She leaves Saint Francis U ranked fourth all-time in scoring at 1,779 career points. Hayward also graduates as the all-time leader in 3-pointers made (300) and attempted (946). She finishes ranked tied for ninth in assists (312), ninth in field goals made (593), second in field goals attempted (1,722), ninth in free throws made (293), and 10th in free throws attempted (372).

Last season, SFU's
Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) was invited to the combine. She eventually came away with a professional contract to play in the Greece A-1 league, where she had an exceptional rookie season.

Saint Francis has had one player drafted in its history as it saw standout player Jess Zinobile get drafted in 2000 by the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs.
