Red Flash Flog Bulldogs, 3-0

LORETTO, Pa. (March 14, 2015) -- The Saint Francis men's volleyball defeated the Barton College Bulldogs 3-0 Saturday afternoon extending their winning streak to a season-high at two games.

The Red Flash never faulted against the Bulldogs in a match that barely exceeded 70 minutes. SFU improved to 3-4 on their home court, while Barton fell to 5-10 on the road.

Saint Francis cruised through the first set 25-17 highlighted by five kills from Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) who was one of five Red Flash attackers to hit above a .500 clip. Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central), Keith Kegerreis (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), and Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) all attacked the ball at a perfect 1.000 during the set. As a team the Flash hit .500.

During the second set the Red Flash never trailed the Bulldogs as they once again silenced a rowdy Barton bench. Jeremy Gaston (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) recorded a set-high four kills giving the Red Flash a 2-0 advantage entering the third set.

For the third and final time SFU deflated the frisky Bulldog bench, handing Barton a 25-19 third set loss and their 14 loss of the season. Saint Francis out scored the Bulldogs 48-to-29.

Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) tallied a game-high 25 assists for Saint Francis, while Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) was the only student-athlete to record double-digit kills (10). Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) followed Hogan's lead being the only player in the match to record a double-digit performance in digs with 11.

SFU returns to action against the No. 11 Ohio State March 20 at 7 p.m. in DeGol Arena.
