Slow Start Hurts Red Flash against Campbell

LORETTO, Pa. (March 27, 2015) – Despite playing a near even second half, the Saint Francis U women's lacrosse team faced a deficit from the first half and fell to Campbell at home on Friday afternoon, 18-5.

Campbell started its scoring early into the opening period of play and the Red Flash trailed 10-0 at halftime. The Camels scored again to open the second frame before they picked up three yellow cards in a matter of just a minute.

The Flash took advantage and scored three consecutive goals during the span, the first was from Christina Fini (Huntington, N.Y./Smithtown East) and Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) picked up an assist. Lawrence assisted on the next tally, which was from Blair Rosenberg (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor). Katie Schaaf (Ellicott City, Md./Hebron) scored the third goal with that assist going to Jessica Fischetti (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) and SFU trailed 11-3 with 23:24 to go.

Campbell scored six unanswered goals next to take a 17-3 advantage. Fini and Schaaf would each score for Saint Francis near the end of the game.

Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air) tallied 14 saves for SFU, but took the loss in net. Elizabeth Henry (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) also saw time between the pipes for the Flash. Lawrence finished with a game-high five draw controls.
