NEWARK, N.J. (April 17, 2015) -- The Saint Francis U men's volleyball squad dropped a crucial EIVA conference match to the New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders 3-1 Friday afternoon. NJIT swept Saint Francis in regular season play.
The Highlanders jumped on the Flash early winning the first set handily 25-19. SFU struggled to find its form in the second set as the Highlanders squeezed out a 25-23 barn-burner.
Up 2-0 Saint Francis rallied back into the pressure packed conference game cruising to a 25-18 third set win.
Home court advantage sealed the deal for NJIT as they zapped the Flash in the fourth set 25-19. The Highlanders defeated the Flash for the second team in regular season play.
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) led the Red Flash offensive front collecting eight kills. Freshman
Jack Carlson (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) tallied 11 digs, while
Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) chipped 24 assists.
Saint Francis concluded their road-trip tomorrow against Princeton.
