LORETTO, PA- Â Saint Francis men's soccer will honor their 10-man senior class on Friday prior to their home match against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils.Â
ABOUT THE FLASH
SFU is coming off a pair of draws last weekend on the road at FDU and Bryant, both matches ending in 1-1 ties. The Red Flash currently sit at 2-1-2 in the Northeast Conference and their eight points are good for third place in the NEC, right behind LIU Brooklyn. A pair of seniors hooked up for the tying goal last Friday against FDU as
Stefan Sjekloca (Belgrade, Serbia/Fryeburg Academy) fed
Dominic Ramirez (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) for the tying goal. On Sunday, it was
Troye Kiernan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) who earned a penalty kick in the box and the junior finished for his third tally of the season. SFU sports excellent balance on offense with 11 different goal scorers and five players scoring multiple goals. Defensively, the Flash have made their mark. SFU has surrendered just 14 goals in 16 matches with
Marcus Rojas (Fremont, Calif./Bellarmine College Preparatory) and the defense earning seven clean sheets along the way. Rojas currently owns a .84 goals against average and is stopping 75 percent of the shots on goal.Â
ABOUT CCSU
The Blue Devils come into the match at 1-2-1 in the NEC and Friday's match is part of their Pennsylvania swing as they will head to Robert Morris on Sunday. Daquan King and Ryan Taylor pace CCSU offensively with six points each with King leading the way with three goals. As a team, the Blue Devils have found the net just 11 times in 14 matches, but only SFBK has been able to slow them down offensively in the NEC. Look for senior Nick Valleca to start in net, he has 13 starts this season wtih 1.92 goals against average including a 2.43 GAA in conference play.Â
