KENT, Ohio. – The Saint Francis field hockey team fell to Kent State 3-0 on Sunday at Murphy-Mellis Field to close out the regular season.

Kent State got on the board just four minutes into the match. Ksysti Lober scored her first of two goals of the match off a shot deflection. Saint Francis had their best offensive opportunity in the first half when
Brianna Govia (St. James, Trinidad/Holy Name) recorded a shot on goal, but was turned away by KSU goalie Andrea Rinehart.

The Flashes would hold a 1-0 lead heading into the half.

KSU opened the scoring in the second half two minutes in. Shannon Talbot found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Alexis Maderia to put Kent State ahead, 2-0.Â

Saint Francis recorded their only penalty corner of the match in the 45th minute and tried to make the most of their opportunity.
Brea Seabrook (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) tried to get SFU on the board but her shot sailed wide.

Lober scored her second goal of the match in the 66th minute. Lober broke into the circle and rifled a shot that found the back of the net to give the Flashes a 3-0 lead.

Kent State led in shots 13-3 while both teams earned just one penalty corner.
