LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's basketball team welcomes Stony Brook to DeGol Arena on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tipoff.  The game will be broadcast on NEC Front Row, with Pat Farabaugh, play-by-play, and Bernie Jubeck, color analyst, on the call.
 
The Red Flash, led by Head Coach Rob Krimmel, looks to snap a three-game skid after falling 100-67 at Lehigh on Monday.  SFU is 3-5 this season.  Stony Brook enters the game with a 3-7 record after a 96-58 setback at Hofstra on Tuesday.
 
NOTES FROM LEHIGH
- Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) earned his first start of the season and led Saint Francis with 13 points, hitting four of eight shot attempts.  He added six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks.  Nebo has reached double-digit points in all eight games this season.
- Nebo's two blocks gave him 69 for his career, two away from moving him into sixth place all-time at SFU.
- Randall Gaskins Jr. and Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) each had nine points, with Gaskins adding two steals and King recording five rebounds and three assists.
- Lehigh was the first SFU opponent to reach 100 points in a game since North Carolina on January 2, 2011.
 
SERIES HISTORY 
This marks the first ever meeting between Saint Francis and Stony Brook.  The Red Flash is 11-11 all-time against current America East teams.
 
ACTION BRAXTON
Braxton averaged 13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists and 2.5 steals per game in two contests last week to earn his second straight NEC Rookie of the Week award.  In Wednesday's game at NJIT, Braxton contributed 11 points, eight rebound, four assists, three steals and a block, with nine of his 11 points coming in the second half.  On Saturday against Binghamton, he netted 16 points, on seven-of-eight shooting, and added nine rebounds and two steals.  He has posted double-digit scoring efforts in six games this season and has five games with eight or more rebounds.  He is fourth among NCAA freshman in rebounds per game (8.1) and averages the most rebounds among freshman guards.  Braxton ranks third in the NEC in steals per game (1.7). 

NEBO'S BLOCK PARTY
Sophomore forward Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) has become a force when it comes to protecting the rim.  After posting 56 blocks as a freshman, Nebo has 13 this year, with two coming at Lehigh.  His 69 career blocks are already good for seventh all-time at Saint Francis, two away from tying Jason Osborne (2001-05) for sixth place.  Nebo leads the NEC with 1.63 blocks per game.
 
He's been good on the offensive end this year too, where he ranks 15th in the nation in shooting percentage (65.6).  He also leads the NEC with 8.4 rebounds per game.
 
BOMBS AWAY
Saint Francis hit on 9 threes against St. Bonaventure, 10 against Duquesne and 19 vs. Chatham.  The Red Flash are currently 24th the nation with a 40.6 three-point percentage and leads the NEC, hitting 8.6 three-pointers per game.  SFU's 19 against Chatham are the fourth-most in a Division I game this year.
 
Sophomore guard Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) leads the team with 16 threes, with senior guard Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou) right behind with 15.  Sophomore Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) and Scott Meredith (Pilot Mountain, N.C./Hargrave Military Academy (Va.)) each have 10, while sophomore Andre Wolford (Willowick, Ohio/Saint Ignatius) has hit seven.

BALANCED ATTACK
Saint Francis placed four players in double figures in the 73-70 loss vs. Binghamton.  The Red Flash has put at least four players in double figures in six of eight games this season.  SFU had five in double figures in the opener at Saint Bonaventure.
 
King (13.4), Nebo (13.0), Braxton (11.6) and Blackmon (10.6) are all averaging double-figures through seven games.

YOUTH MOVEMENT 
Eleven of the eighteen players on the Saint Francis roster are freshman or sophomore eligibility.  Of the 16 players who have appeared a game this year, 11 are freshmen or sophomores.  Through eight games, the group has combined for 560 of the team's 639 points (87.6 percent) and 1314 of 1600 minutes (82.1 percent).

TEAM CAPTAINS 
Senior guard Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou), sophomore guard Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) and sophomore forward Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) were selected Team Captains for the 2016-17 season. Angelou, one of three seniors on the roster, moves into a bigger role this year after being a key contributor off the bench last season, leading SFU with a 47.4 three-point percentage. King will provide leadership at the point guard spot, while Nebo made a big impact in his freshman campaign, starting 29 games.

ABOUT THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook is 3-7 this season after a 96-58 setback at Hofstra on Tuesday.  Stony Brook fell 71-66 at Rutgers last Saturday.
 
Freshman guard Michael Almonacy led the Seawolves with 15 points against Hofstra, hitting 7-of-12 shots.  Senior guard Lucas Woodhouse added 10 points on three-of-seven shooting.  As a team, Stony Brook shot 33.8 percent from the floor and 21.4 percent from three.
 
Four Seawolves are averaging double-digits this year, led by Woodhouse, who averages 12 points per game to go with 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest.  Woodhouse is also 19th in the nation with a 92.7 free-throw percentage.  Junior forward Tyrell Sturdivant is averaging 11.3 points, while freshman forward Akwasi Yeboah is contributing 10.4 points and junior forward Roland Nyama is averaging 10.1 points per game.  State College native Bryan Sekunda is averaging 5.8 points per game.
