LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team extended their three-match win streak in a sweep over George Mason on Friday night at DeGol Arena in conference action. The Flash won the match, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-16.

With the win, the Flash improves to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in conference, while the Patriots fall to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the EIVA.

Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) led the Flash with 13 kills, while
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) finished with 11 kills and three service aces.
Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) had a game-high 31 assists and five digs.
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) led the defensive with five total blocks.

Both teams traded services early in the first set. The Flash put together a 3-0 run to lead, 8-5. George Mason climbed back to tie the score at 9-9. SFU scored three unanswered points to pull ahead, 12-9. GMU fought back to tie the score at 14-14. Both teams again would trade points down the stretch, with neither team gaining more than a two-point advantage. A service error by the Patriots' Paco Velez gave the Flash the win, 25-23. The Flash hit .320 in the first match.

GMU pulled out to a 7-4 lead in the second set. Saint Francis stormed back to outscore George Mason, 5-1, to tie the score at 8-8. The rest of the match would stay close, with multiple ties and lead changes. A kill by Mason's Velez would send the match into overtime. The Flash scored the last two points in overtime to win, 27-25.

Much like the first two sets, the third set started with both teams exchanging points. Saint Francis went ahead, 10-9, but Mason would tie the score at 10-10 and again at 11-11. The Flash finally broke the stalemate, highlighted by a Ford service ace, and went on an 8-0 run to lead, 18-11. SFU cruised the rest of the way and took the third set, 25-16. The Flash defensive held the Patriots to a -.083 hitting percentage in the third set.
