LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's lacrosse team played a near even first half, but Duquesne outscored the Flash, 9-3, in the second half and fell, 15-7, at DeGol Field on Wednesday night.

Saint Francis falls to 1-6 on the season, while Duquesne improves to 2-3.

Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) led the Flash with two goals.
Eilis Hagan (Damascus, Md./Damascus) tallied five ground balls, while
Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) posted three draw controls, caused a turnover, and added a goal and an assist.
Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air) registered 10 saves, but took the loss in net.

The Dukes scored just 12 seconds into the first period. Mahon was assisted by Lawrence to tie the score at 1-1. Duquesne would score four unanswered goals before
Lindsay Ingram (Stewartstown, Pa./York Catholic) found the back of the net to cut the deficit to two at 5-2.

Duquesne would answer a minute later before Saint Francis would rattle off three straight goals, highlighted by a
Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) man-up goal to trail, 6-4, at the half.

Lawrence scored right out of the gate in the second period to cut the score to one at 6-5. The Dukes scored six unanswered goals to take an 12-5 advantage. Lawrence would score her second goal of the game on a free position goal to trim the Dukes' lead to 12-6 with 16:27 left to play.

The Dukes would outscore the Flash, 3-1, down the stretch to take the game, 15-7.
Saint Francis travels to Delaware State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
