NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Saint Francis women's lacrosse team fell on the road against the CCSU Blue Devils, 14-6, on Sunday afternoon at Arute Field.

Saint Francis falls to 4-9 overall and 1-3 in the NEC, while Central Connecticut State improves to 3-10 and 2-2 in the NEC.

Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) led the Flash with three goals and two ground balls.Â
Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) tallied two goals and added an assists, while
Lindsay Ingram (Stewartstown, Pa./York Catholic) recorded a goal.

CCSU opened the scoring in the first half just a minute into the game to take a 1-0 lead. SFU answered back with a goal from Ingram a minute later to tie the score at 1-1.

Both teams would trade goals to tie the game at 2-2 with 24:33 left in the first period. The Blue Devils would score three-straight goals to take a 5-2 lead before Lawrence scored off a pass from Mazzur to cut the deficit to two at 5-3.

Central Connecticut scored two more goals before the end of the half to take a 7-3 lead.

The Blue Devils extended its lead to seven with three goals to start the second half.

Mazzur scored her 20th goal of the season to put the Flash within six at 10-4 with 18:56 to play.

CCSU rattled off four more goals to take a 14-4 lead. Lawrence and Mazzur each scored late, but the Flash fell, 14-6.
