LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team swept Sacred Heart in EIVA action on Friday night at DeGol Arena. The Flash won the match, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.

Saint Francis improves to 16-8 on the season and 7-4 in the EIVA, while Sacred Heart falls to 6-15 and 4-7 in conference.

"Great home crowd again tonight. The players fed off of the crowd and responded like it was a playoff game," said head coach
Mike Rumbaugh. "It was a great finish when Drew (Grehan) had the solo block to close out the match."

Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) tallied 14 kills, while
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) added 13.
Gabe Woffindin (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) finished with a team-high 13 digs, while
Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) recorded 10 digs and dished out 38 assists.
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) and
Keith Kegerreis (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) both finished with six kills on nine attempts and finished with a .667 hitting percentage. Kegerreis also added three total blocks.

The Flash jumped ahead 9-5 in the first set on the strength of two kills by Marshman. The Pioneers would pull within two at 9-7, but SFU would go on a 5-1 run to lead, 14-8. Saint Francis would take a six-point lead at 16-10, but Sacred Heart would score five unanswered to only trail by one at 19-18. The Flash would score four of the last five points to take the set, 25-21.

SFU took an early 8-4 lead in set number two, but SHU would put together a 4-0 run to tie the score at 8-8. Both teams would exchange points halfway through the set. The Flash broke the 16-16 tie with a 5-0 run to lead, 21-16. Saint Francis would score the last three points to seal the second set, 25-20. The Flash defense held the Pioneers' offense to just a .031 hitting percentage.

Saint Francis would again jump out to an early lead in the third and final set. Sacred Heart would cut the Saint Francis deficit to one at 12-11, but the Flash scored four unanswered points to put the game out of reach. A solo block by
Drew Grehan (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) gave the Flash the set and the match, 25-19.
