LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis women's volleyball coach
Sara McMullen announced Monday the hiring of
Colton Reinholtz as assistant coach. He comes to Loretto after serving as an assistant at Western State Colorado University for the past two seasons.
Reinholtz joined a team at Western State Colorado that hadn't won more than six matches in the three years prior to his arrival. After a 2-20 season in his first year as an assistant, Reinholtz helped to engineer an 11-win improvement in 2015. The Mountaineers finished with a 13-17 record and a berth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament, their first since 2003.
Prior to Western State Colorado, Reinholtz spent a season as an assistant coach at Hofstra. The Pride finished that campaign with a 17-15 record and an appearance in the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.
"I'm really excited for Colton to join me and the rest of the Red Flash family," McMullen said. "His previous Division I experience and his most recent experience helping to turn around Western State Colorado will be valuable tools as we look to compete for championships in the NEC."
Reinholtz also has extensive experience coaching clubs and high schools around the country.
The Red Flash opens its 2016 season at the La Salle Invitational on Aug. 26-27.
