Men's Golf Ties for 12th At Navy Invite

ROUND 2 OF INVITE CANCELLED 


Rain washed out the second round of the Navy Invite in Annapolis on Monday, making Sunday's opening round the only offical round of the tourney, its recap is below. 

Brandon Mihalo (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/Holy Names Catholic) shot an opening round 74 and Saint Francis tied for 12th overall at the first round of the Navy Invite. 

Mihalo's round of 74 puts him in a log-jam tie for 25th place overall, six shots behind the leaders. Austin Renz (Danville, Pa./Danville) is tied for 44th overall and sits two shots behind Mihalo after a Sunday 76. Graduate student Kurtis Straw (Johnstown, Pa./Bishop McCort) is a shot in back of Renz as his opening-round 77 puts him in a tie for 49th and puts three Red Flash golfers in the top 50. 

Also scoring for the Flash was Benjamin Morgret who shot an 80 on Sunday to sit in a tie for 71st while Dominic Stevens shot an 84 and sits in 84th overall. 

As a team, the Red Flash shot a 23-over 307 to tie for 12th in the 16 team field. They finished just a shot behind Lafayette and nine in back of Saint Joseph's for 10th overall. The Red Flash are back in action next weekend, as they take part in the Northern Kentucky Fall Classic.
