SOMERSET, N.J. – Junior Jenna Veres (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) has been named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Red Flash Classic over the weekend.
 
Veres was locked in defensively over the weekend, averaging 6.33 digs per set for Saint Francis, as she earned All-Tournament honors at the Red Flash Classic.
 
She recorded 20-plus digs in matches against Eastern Kentucky and Navy, and added 13 more in a 3-0 win over Iona on Saturday.
 
Saint Francis opens conference play on Saturday as they host Bryant at 2 p.m.
