Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) each contributed 21 points to lead the Saint Francis men's basketball team to a 75-61 win over Bryant on Thursday. The Red Flash got some clutch shooting from King and senior
Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou) late in the second half to help pull away. SFU improved to 7-11 overall and 4-3 in conference play, while Bryant dropped to 5-15 overall and 2-5 in NEC contests.

The win was Head Coach
Rob Krimmel's 51st career win, moving him into a tie for eighth place all-time at SFU. He is now tied with John Loughran (1920-24) and will have an opportunity to pass Loughran on Saturday against Central Connecticut State.

The Red Flash shot 45 percent for the game, despite shooting a season-worst 17 percent from three. SFU made 27-of-60 from the field and just 4-of-24 from beyond the arc. SFU shot 17-for-24 from the free throw line.

Braxton and King each had 21 points and eight rebounds. Braxton hit 9-of-12 shots and went three-of-four from the line. He added three assists, a block and four steals. King went 6-of-19 from the field, but 8-of-10 from the line. He had four assists and two steals to go with his career high-tying eight boards.

Sophomore
Andre Wolford (Willowick, Ohio/Saint Ignatius), making his first career start, tallied 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and added two steals, while Angelou had 10 points and four rebounds.

Bryant shot 35 percent from the field, including just 20 percent from the three point line. The Bulldogs were 24-of-68 from the field and 5-of-25 from three, while going 8-for-14 from the free throw line.

Nisre Zouzoua led the Bulldogs with 16 points, making 5-of-18 shots, and added six boards, two assists and two steals. Sabastian Townes contributed 14 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Marcel Pettway had 11 points and seven rebounds. Bryant won the battle on the boards, 45-40, but committed 17 turnovers, which led to 12 SFU steals and 14 SFU fastbreak points.

The Red Flash took a 42-30 lead into the halftime break. SFU shot 46 percent for the half, making 16-of-35 attempts, despite hitting just 2-of-15 from three. Saint Francis got 26 of its 42 points inside the paint.Â

King led the Red Flash with 14 points in the half, hitting four shots, including a three, and going five-of-six from the free throw line. He added five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Braxton contributed 13 points, going six-of-seven from the field, with four rebounds and three steals. Sophomore

Bryant shot 36 percent in the first half, making 12-of-32 shots, but committed 12 turnovers as SFU recorded 10 steals. Nisre Zouzoua and Sabastian Townes each had six points in the half to lead the Bulldogs. Taylor McHugh added five points.Â

Saint Francis started the game on a 13-0 run, beginning with a three by
Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou).  Braxton added a pair of layups, while Wolford contributed a layup of his own. King hit a three and a free throw to give SFU the 13-0 advantage with 15:21 left. A three by Bosko Kostur ended Bryant's scoreless start with 14:17 to go.

A few minutes later, Bryant went on a 10-2 run, which ended on a layup by Dan Garvin to tie the game at 19-19 with 8:25 left in the half. Townes had four points during the run, with a layup and two free throws, while Zouzoua sank two free throws and Adam Grant hit a jumper.
The Red Flash responded with an 11-0 run to push its lead to 30-19 with 5:12 to go. King started the run with a pair of free throws. Braxton then scored the next seven points, with three layups, including a three-point play after finishing through contact. King knocked down a jumper to close out the run.

Saint Francis scored nine of the game's first 14 points in the second half to hold a 51-35 lead with 15:44 left in the game. Angelou, Nebo and Wolford each hit jumpers during the stretch, with Braxton adding a layup and Nebo hitting a free throw.

However, a 15-2 run by Bryant cut the Red Flash lead to three, 53-50, with 10:11 to go. Townes had six points during the run, with three layups, while Zouzoua hit a three and a layup. Pettway contributed four points with a pair of layups.

After layups by Nebo and Braxton to push SFU's lead back to seven, 57-50, Bryant answered with a three by Grant, two free throws by Zouzoua and a free throw by Pettway to cut the lead to 57-56 with 7:18 left in the game.

Saint Francis responded with a 12-3 run to gain a comfortable 69-59 lead with 3:11 to go. Off a long rebound, King went coast-to-coast for a layup and hit the and-one free throw after being fouled on the layup. Angelou and King each hit two free throws on SFU's next two possessions. King added a jumper, before Angelou hit a key three to put SFU up by 10.

After a layup by Zouzoua, SFU answered as King found Wolford in the corner for a three. A couple free throws by Braxton and one by Nebo closed out the victory.

The Red Flash hosts Central Connecticut State on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest at DeGol Arena. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3, with Paul Dottino, play-by-play, and Joe DeSantis, color, on the call.
