LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team hung with No.1 Ohio State in their home opener on Friday night at DeGol Arena, but the Buckeyes prevailed, 3-0.  The Flash fell, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-18.

With the loss Saint Francis falls to 3-3 on the season, while Ohio State improves to 6-0.

Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) led the Flash with 13 kills and hit .226 in the match.
Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) dished out 28 assists, while
Gabe Woffindin (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) chipped in with seven digs. Miles Johnson paced Ohio State with 11 kills.

After a back-and-fourth opening set, the Red Flash rattled off three unanswered points to take a 8-5 lead. Saint Francis would extend its lead to 12-9 after an Ohio State service error, but the Red Flash lead was short lived as the Buckeyes went on a 3-0 run to tie the set at 12-12. The rest of the set would remain close but OSU closed out the set on a 3-1 run to win 25-23.
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) paced Saint Francis with four kills. The Red Flash held the Buckeyes to a .185 clip in the set.

The Buckeyes would use a 5-0 run to break a 5-5 tie to take a 10-5 lead in the second set. A Braswell kill would pull SFU within three at 13-10. Ohio State would extend its lead to 21-15 and would cruise to a 25-18 win.

Saint Francis would jump out to a 7-6 lead in the third set, but the Buckeyes answered with a 7-0 run to take a commanding 13-7 lead. A Hogan kill would cut the Ohio State deficit to four at 20-16, but OSU kept the pressure on and would take the set 25-18.

Saint Francis returns to action tomorrow night at DeGol Arena when the Red Flash takes on the Lewis Flyers at 7 p.m. Tomorrow's match will be broadcasted on NEC Front Row.
