Women’s Tennis Visits Youngstown State on Saturday

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's tennis team continues Spring play on Saturday at Youngstown State.  The Red Flash and the Penguins are set for a 3 p.m. match.
 
The Red Flash, led by Head Coach Rob Castille, is 1-3 this Spring after picking up its first win over the weekend.  SFU earned a 5-2 win at Howard on Saturday, but fell 5-2 at Navy on Sunday.
 
Freshman Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) won both of her matches at No. 2 last weekend to improve to 7-5 overall and 2-2 this Spring.  Fellow rookie Kathryn Dunleavy (Farmington Hills, Mich./Mercy) earned her first two wins of the Spring at No. 5 to move to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in dual matches.
 
Sophomore Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) went 1-1 at No. 3 this past weekend, while sophomore Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) split her matches at No. 4.  Both players are now 2-2 this Spring.  Freshman Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) is looking for her first win of the Spring this weekend, but has five overall wins this year.
 
Gutierrez and Seigford combined to go 1-1 at the top doubles spot this past week.  The duo has three overall wins.  Bode and Miller also went 1-1 at No. 2 and is now 2-2 this Spring.
 
The Penguins are 2-1 this Spring, with wins over Eastern Michigan (4-3) and Niagara (7-0), but fell 4-3 against Duquesne last Sunday.  YSU hosts Akron on Friday before playing the Red Flash on Saturday.
 
Senior Dominika Lackova is 2-1 at the top singles spot, while junior Noelly Nsimba is 3-0 at No. 2 and junior Sofia Macias is 2-0 at No. 3.
 
In doubles, Lackova and Ana Stroe are 0-2 at No. 1, but Imaan Hassim and Macias are 2-0 at No. 2.
