SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior receiver Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) had a career day to lead the Saint Francis Football team to a 30-14 win at Bryant on Saturday at Beirne Stadium.  Lewis went over the 200-yard mark for the first time in his career and SFU forced four turnovers to shut down the Bryant offense.  The Red Flash improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the NEC, while Bryant fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Red Flash gained 408 total yards, including 292 passing and 116 rushing.  SFU controlled the ball for 34:55 of the game.

Junior quarterback Bear Fenimore (Austin, Texas/Westwood) completed 25-of-37 passes for 292 yards, just one behind his career-high, with three touchdowns and an interception.

Lewis set career highs for catches and yards, with 15 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown.  Lewis had three catches for 20 or more yards.  Now with 2,204 yards in his career, Lewis passed Luke Palko (2003-06) for third all-time at SFU and he is now 237 yards away from tying Antoine Rivera (2005-09) for second all-time.  Lewis also now has 17 career touchdown catches, three behind Rivera for third at SFU.

Lewis' 202 yards are the second-most in a game in program history, only behind Michael Caputo's 294 yards vs. Sacred Heart on October 29, 2005.  His 15 catches are the third-most in an SFU game.  Lewis now has 10 100-yard games in his career and topped his previous career high of 189 yards vs. Central Connecticut in 2016.

Graduate transfer Jorge Solano (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs Charter) had seven catches for 45 yards and a touchdown and sophomore Cyrus Holder (Uniondale, N.Y./Milford Academy) added a 32-yard touchdown catch.  Junior Jymere Jordan-Toney (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin) rushed for 89 yards on 22 carries, while sophomore Avery Miliner (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) had 17 carries for 50 yards.

Senior kicker Eric Bofenkamp (Warren, Ohio/John F. Kennedy) hit three field goals, connecting on attempts from 29, 32 and 36 yards.

The Red Flash held Bryant to just 214 yards of total offense, 270 below their season average.  Bryant had 173 yards passing and 41 rushing.  Saint Francis forced four turnovers, including three interceptions.

Cornerback Jalen Wells (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) picked off two passes for 110 return yards, for the first multi-interception game of his career.  He had two pass breakups that were nearly interceptions.  Safety Nick Rinella (Wyndmoor, Pa./La Salle College) recorded an interception on Bryant's first play of the game and added a forced fumble on a kick return later in the game as well as a pass breakup.  Safety Delondo Boyd (Indian Head, Md./Henry E. Lackey) recovered a fumble and had a tackle for loss.   Linebacker Zane Stewart (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) had six tackles, including a sack, a forced fumble and a QB hurry.  Safety Hakeem Kinard (York, Pa./York Catholic) added four tackles and a sack.

Bryant quarterback Price Wilson completed 15-of-36 passes for 173 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.  Jean Constant caught six passes for 59 yards, while fullback Hayden Panagos had a 46-yard touchdown reception.  Brendan Femiano rushed for 62 yards on 15 carries.

Jesse Nemerowicz led Bryant with 16 tackles, while Eulogio Portugal had 12 tackles, including nine solo, and a pass breakup.  Dillon Guthro had three sacks and a pass breakup and Thomas Costigan had seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.  Zahir Williams had an interception and a pass breakup.

The Red Flash had two scoring opportunities in the first quarter.  Rinella intercepted Wilson's pass on the first play of the game and returned it to the Bryant 25.  Four rushes by Jordan-Toney setup a 23-yard field goal for Eric Bofenkamp (Warren, Ohio/John F. Kennedy), who hit it wide right.  On the next SFU drive, Lewis had five catches for 68 yards, but fumbled at the Bryant 2 while trying to reach for the goal line.

Saint Francis got on the board on a 32-yard touchdown catch by Holder with 10:59 left in the second quarter.  The nine-play, 66-yard drive included a 10-yard catch by Solano and 22 yards by Jordan-Toney.  On second down, Fenimore threw a perfect over-the-shoulder pass to the end zone to connect with Holder.  SFU held a 7-0 advantage.

The Red Flash took a 14-0 lead with 1:59 left in the half to complete an eight-play, 69-yard drive.  Three catches by Lewis, including a 48-yard gain helped to setup Saint Francis at the Bryant 5.  On 3rd and goal, Fenimore connected with Solano in the corner for a four-yard score.

On the first play of Bryant's next drive, Wells picked off a pass to the left side and returned it to the Bryant 11.  After three shots to the end zone, Bofenkamp knocked in a 29-yard field goal to give the Red Flash a 17-0 lead going into halftime.

Bryant scored its first touchdown of the game on a four-yard sweep by Tom Kennedy.  The 12-play, 60-yard drive was aided by a 36-yard run by Femiano.

Saint Francis extended its lead to 20-7 on a 32-yard field goal by Bofenkamp with 16 seconds left in the third quarter. The field goal concluded a 60-yard drive by SFU, which included a 10-yard run by Miliner and a 13-yard catch by Matt Valenzuela (Sterling, Va./Dominion).

The Bulldogs cut their deficit to 20-14 on a 46-yard touchdown catch by Panagos with 13:42 to go in the game.  Constant had a 20-yard catch earlier in the drive.

After an interception thrown by Fenimore, Bryant was driving into SFU territory when Wells came up with his second pick of the day.  He returned it to the end zone, but a penalty negated the touchdown and brought the ball back to the Bryant 25.  After a third down catch by Solano was short of the marker, Bofenkamp connected on his third field goal of the day, a 36-yarder, to give SFU a 23-14 advantage with 6:14 left.

The Red Flash extended its lead to 30-14 on an eight-yard touchdown catch by Lewis.  After SFU forced a turnover on downs at the Bryant 40, seven straight runs by Miliner, including a 15-yard carry, got the ball down to the Bryant 8.  On fourth and goal, Fenimore hit Lewis on an out-route and the receiver fought his way into the end zone.

The Red Flash will continue its NEC schedule and play its fourth straight road game next Saturday, October 21, at Duquesne.  Kickoff is scheduled for Noon at Rooney Field, with a broadcast on ESPN3.
