Live Stats | Live Video

Loretto, Pa. –
The Saint Francis men's soccer team (8-8, 1-4 NEC) looks to get back on track on Friday when it hosts Sacred Heart at 2 p.m.

Scouting Sacred Heart

The Pioneers sit in last place in the NEC with an 0-3-1 record, however, two of its three losses have been by a goal. The only point the Pioneers have been able to muster was a 0-0 draw with first-place St. Francis Brooklyn. Sacred Heart has had difficulties scoring goals with just nine in 14 matches. Oscar Curras and Ermir Celaj lead the team with two goals. Curras has added two assists.

Series History

Saint Francis has owned the all-time series to the tune of a 16-2-2 record. The Red Flash enter Friday with an eight-game winning streak over the Pioneers including a 1-0 win in Fairfield last season.

Clinging to Life

Despite its 1-4 record in conference the Red Flash are still mathematically alive for a playoff bid. Saint Francis will have to win its remaining two matches and get serious help. Two wins would push them to nine points, which currently sits second place in the conference, however six of the eight teams have at least seven points.

Vying for Double Digits

The Red Flash can reach double digits in wins for the fifth consecutive season with wins over Sacred Heart and Robert Morris the following week. The last time SFU failed to reach double digits was in 2012 when it went 6-7-7. The Red Flash would sneak into the NEC Playoffs, losing in the NEC Final to Fairleigh Dickinson in penalties. Saint Francis has averaged 11.75 wins over the last four seasons.
