CLINTON, S.C. – The Saint Francis Football team fell 26-14 at Presbyterian on Saturday at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Special teams mistakes by Saint Francis helped the Blue Hoes to three scores. The Red Flash dropped to 3-2 on the season, while Presbyterian improved to 3-3.

Saint Francis gained 243 yards of total offense, including 185 passing and 58 rushing. Â Junior
Jymere Jordan-Toney (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin) led the offense with 89 yards on 19 carries and added a 15-yard touchdown reception.

Junior quarterback
Bear Fenimore (Austin, Texas/Westwood) completed 18-of-33 passes for 185 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Junior
Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) caught seven passes for 58 yards, while
Jorge Solano (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs Charter) had four receptions for 53 yards and sophomore
Cyrus Holder (Uniondale, N.Y./Milford Academy) added a 42-yard catch.

Presbyterian compiled 357 yards of offense, including 204 on the ground and 153 through the air. Quarterback Ben Cheek completed 10-of-18 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown and added 93 yards on 15 carries. Darquez Watson caught three passes for 65 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown catch. Da'Shawn Davis added four catches for 60 yards. Torrance Marable ran for 84 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown, on 21 carries, while Mark Robinson had 40-yards rushing.

Louie Gartner (Bloomfield, N.J./Paramus Catholic) had the biggest play of the day for the defense, with a 49-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Junior linebacker
Sean Orsini (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) led the defense with a career-high 13 tackles, including four solo. Junior linebacker
Ben Bruni (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) contributed 11 tackles, six solo, and two pass breakups. Sophomore
Nick Rinella (Wyndmoor, Pa./La Salle College) had eight stops and senior
Jalen Wells (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) had seven tackles and a pass breakup. Sophomore
Da'Jon Lee (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) had five tackles, a forced fumble and a QB hurry.

Ryan Burgess led Presbyterian with 10 tackles, while Elijah Turner had eight, including a tackle for loss. Grant Beidel had seven stops, with one for loss, while Rock Ya-Sin had seven tackles and an interception. Gyasi Yeldell added a sack.

The Blue Hose got on the board first on a 35-yard field goal by Brett Norton with seven seconds left in the first quarter. Cheek had three rushes for 30 yards on the drive and Marable added a 15-yard run to help setup the field goal.

The field goal came after Presbyterian had blocked an SFU field goal. Solano catches for 10 and 22 yards and a 29-yard run by Jordan-Toney helped the Red Flash to move the ball to the PC 13. A 30-yard attempt by Bofenkamp was blocked.

Presbyterian extended its lead to 5-0 early in the second quarter. On fourth down, the punt snap went over
Andrew Zecca (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston)'s head into the end zone. Zecca pushed it out of the end zone to prevent a touchdown recovery.

After the safety, Presbyterian drove down to the SFU 27. However, Norton's 44-yard attempt was blocked up the middle by
Shawn McCord (Aberdeen, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) and Lee.

The Blue Hose took a 12-0 lead on another big special teams play. After a high snap to Zecca, Presbyterian's Rod Haygood blocked the punt. It was picked up by Malachi Brown at the PC 17 and returned for a touchdown. Presbyterian led by 12 with 4:33 to go in the half.

After an interception by Fenimore was returned to the Presbyterian 48 by Ya-Sin, on the first play of the drive, Mark Robinson was stripped by Lee. Gartner picked up the ball at the PC 49 and returned it for a touchdown. The extra point cut the deficit to 12-7 Presbyterian with 6:28 left in the third quarter.

Presbyterian extended its lead to 19-7 with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard touchdown catch by Watson. On third down, Cheek threw a pass to Watson that was tipped by
Hakeem Kinard (York, Pa./York Catholic), but landed in Watson's hands behind the defense. He took it the rest of the way for a score.

The Red Flash responded with a 75-yard drive in just 1:35 to cut the deficit to 19-14 with 8:08 remaining. Jordan-Toney caught a screen pass and found his way up the sideline for a 15-yard score. Fenimore connected with Holder on a 42-yard pass to move the ball to the PC 28. A 13-yard catch by Lewis setup the touchdown catch by Jordan-Toney.

However, Presbyterian responded with a scoring drive to move it back to a two-score game, 26-14, with 4:01 to go. Marable scored on a 12-yard run up the middle. A 42-yard reception by Davis moved the ball down to the SFU 12.

The Red Flash resumes Northeast Conference play next Saturday, October 14 as it travels to Bryant. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Beirne Stadium, with a broadcast on NEC Front Row. Bryant is 2-3 this season and will play its NEC opener after this week's bye week.
