MOON, PA- The Red Flash fought valiantly in a back-and-forth five-set match on Friday night but fell 16-14 to Robert Morris on Friday night at the North Athletic Complex.

Robert Morris won the match 25-11, 20-25, 16-25, 25-17, 16-14 as SFU drops to 12-13 overall and 6-6 in NEC play while Robert Morris evens their record at 14-14 and is now 8-4 in NEC play.

Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) with 14 kills, 12 digs, and three aces led the Red Flash while
Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) had 16 kills to lead all scorers.

FIRST SET RECAP
- Robert Morris broke open the first set with an 9-1 run to take a 12-4 lead and force a Saint Francis timeout
- The Colonials got eight service aces in the first set, led by Emma Granger who had four
- After the big run, the Red Flash were able to force a trio of attack errors to build a small run but it wouldn't be enough as SFU fell 25-11 in the first set

SECOND SET RECAP
- Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) got hot in the second set, ripping off seven kills to lead SFU
- A pair of 5-1 runs paced the Red Flash who answered RMU rallies with ones of their own
- Two kills by Marcinowski forced an RMU timeout at 22-13, the Red Flash's largest lead of the set
- The Colonials would rally to cut the lead to 23-19 to force an SFU timeout
- Out of the timeout, SFU got kills from Cecilia Esposito (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) and Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) to close the set
THIRD SET RECAP
- The Red Flash kept the momentum rolling in the third set, breaking open a 10-10 set with a 9-2 run
- Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) fueled the run with four of her six kills in the set to put SFU in control
- RMU would cut the lead to five at 20-15, but could get no closer
- A combo block from Marcinowski and Sophia Esposito (Coraopolis, PA/Montour (Gardner-Webb)) and an ace from Roush closed the set

FOURTH SET RECAP
- Saint Francis raced out to an 8-3 lead, paced by another Roush ace and a Marcinowski kill
- The Colonials were forced to call timeout and rallied back with an 8-2 run to take a 11-9 lead and force a SFU timeout
- A 7-0 run midway through the set by Robert Morris was too much to overcome as the Colonials built a 17-10 lead
- SFU would cut the lead to five on a pair of occasions but could get no closer as RMU won the fourth 25-17

FIFTH SET RECAP
- Each team traded runs as Robert Morris answered an SFU run with one of their own to tie the set at six
- The Colonials led 8-7 at the change over but neither team led by more than two in the final stages of the match
- The fifth set had eight ties including at every stage from 10-10 to 14-14
- Two kills by Sophia Esposito (Coraopolis, PA/Montour (Gardner-Webb)) answered RMU points as the teams traded kills
- Back-to-back kills from Emma Granger closed out the match

Saint Francis will wrap up the regular season next weekend with senior weekend as they host Central Connecticut and Bryant. The Blue Devils of CCSU are up first with a 7 p.m. first serve scheduled for Friday night.
