BOX SCORE Greenville, N.C. - Freshman
Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) (Kaplan, La.) matched senior
Ketarah DeVries (Forreston, Ill./Forreston)' (Forreston, Ill.) no-hitter from earlier in the week with one of her own on Sunday in a 9-0 win over Cleveland State to secure another 4-1 week for the Saint Francis softball team.
"It was great to see our hitters respond today and barrel up some balls and Abby gave us another great pitching performance," said head coach
Jennifer Patrick-Swift. "We are growing and learning every time we step on the field and at this point of the season that's a great thing!"
Trahan set the tone vs. Cleveland State on Sunday with a 1-2-3 first inning. The Red Flash took a 2-0 lead three hitters into the game after sophomore
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) (DuBois, Pa.) walked and scored on a triple by junior
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) (Plum, Pa.). Sophomore
Hayley Norton (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) (Spring Grove, Pa.) followed with an rbi single and the Red Flash were off and running. Sophomore
Kassidy Troxell (Navarre, Ohio/Perry) (Navarre, Ohio) added an rbi base hit to make the score 3-0 after the first.
Senior
Kindra Witthus (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) (Hudson, Wis.) belted a two-run home run in the second inning, her second of the season, to open up a 5-0 Saint Francis lead. An rbi double by senior
Kelsie Marconi (Lowber, Pa./Yough) (Lowber, Pa.) in the third inning, a run manufactured on the basepaths by
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) in the fourth, and a two-run homer from Senca in the sixth rounded out the scoring.
The only runner to reach base off Trahan did so thanks to a Saint Francis error to open the sixth. She struck out five hitters to move to 4-0 on her freshman season.
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) was a thorn in the Vikings' side all game long, reaching base in all four of her plate appearances and scoring three runs. She was 2-for-2 with two doubles.

- Seneca's 24 career home runs rank fifth in school history and she is just six shy of tying Jamie Krusinsky's (1999-2002) record.
- Through 10 games, the Saint Francis pitching staff is limiting its opponents to a .159 batting average while recording a 1.96 staff era.
