BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Saint Francis men's basketball team erased a 12-point deficit in the final 15 minutes to earn an 80-78 win at LIU Brooklyn on Saturday at the Steinberg Wellness Center.  The Red Flash improved to 11-12 overall and 8-4 in the NEC as it picked up its fourth straight win.  The Blackbirds fell to 14-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play.

Saint Francis collected its fifth NEC road win this season, earning five NEC road wins in a season for the fourth time in program history and the first time since 1997-98.  SFU found success in New York this year, with wins at Wagner, St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU Brooklyn.

Sophomore Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) led the Red Flash with 19 points, hitting 8-of-12 shots, three rebounds and three blocks.  With the blocks, Nebo now has 112 for his career, moving into sole possession of second place all-time at SFU, passing Jerry Mack (1985-89).  Nebo is 25 blocks behind Melvin Scott's all-time record set in 1996-01.

Fellow sophomore Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) added 15 points, with three triples and six-for-six from the free throw line, seven rebounds and three steals.  Freshman Randall Gaskins Jr. hit all four shot attempts, including a three, and all three free throws for 12 points, and senior Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou) contributed 10 points.

The Red Flash shot 50 percent from the floor, despite going 5-of-16 from three (31 percent) and 19-of-24 at the free throw line.  SFU hit 63 percent of its shots in the second half, making 17-of-27, and went five-of-nine from three.  SFU won a close battle on the boards, 32-31, and forced 14 turnovers.

LIU Brooklyn was led by Jashaun Agosto's 19 points, on 6-of-15 shooting, and Julian Batts added 14 points, with four threes, seven rebounds and three steals.  Iverson Fleming contributed 12 points and five rebounds, while Julius van Sauers had 11 points, with three triples and two free throws.

A couple minutes later, Wolford hit jumpers on back-to-back possessions gave SFU a 68-65 lead with 6:16 remaining.  However, three free throws by Agosto, on two possessions, tied the game with 4:23 to go.  King and Fleming traded layups before Braxton and Agosto did the same, leaving the game tied at 72-72 with 2:02 remaining.

On the next possession, Blackmon drew a foul and hit both free throws.  On the following SFU possession, King found a wide-open Gaskins Jr. in the corner as the freshman knocked down a three to extend the lead to 77-72 with 23 seconds left.

However, Batts knocked down a three nine seconds later.  Blackmon answered by hitting two free throws after being fouled on an in-bound pass.  Batts hit another three to cut the SFU lead to one, 79-78, with six seconds left.  King was then fouled on the next in-bounds pass.  King hit the first free throw but missed the second, but Nebo collected a game-sealing steal after LIU grabbed the rebound.
