Alyssa McGhee (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) got the Saint Francis women's soccer team (2-5) off to a strong start with a goal in the second minute, but the George Washington Colonials (3-2-1) scored the final two goals, the last coming in the 82nd minute, to earn the win.
Highlights
- McGhee's goal came just 64 seconds into the match as the Red Flash linked up in the Colonials half. Senior Gabi Morales (Madrid, Spain/Colegio La Inmaculada-Marillac) and sophomore Abigail Tarosky (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded assists on the play.
- The Red Flash held the lead for 13:04 before Sofia Pavon's strike from outside of the box tied the game at 1-1.
- The game remained deadlocked until the 81:04 mark when Alexis Williams received a cross from Brittany Cooper and found the back of the net.

- George Washington piled up the shots in the second half, outshooting the Red Flash 16-2 over the final 45 minutes and 27-7 for the match.
- Sophomore Julia Hernan (Collegeville, Pa./The Hill School) had a terrific game, tying her career-high with 13 saves. Eight of her stops came in the second half.
- Senior midfielder Siobhan Bross (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) registered three shots and two shots on goal.
- McGhee put both of her shot attempts on target.
- Saint Francis earned two second half corner kicks to none for George Washington.
- McGhee upped her point total to eight for the season with two goals and four assists. She recorded three goals and four assists as a freshman.
- Saint Francis has played six of its seven matches away from home.
