MOON, PA- Megan Smith hit a wild three-pointer off a scramble at the buzzer and the Colonials spoiled a 42-point effort from
Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) in a 63-62 classic finish on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Flash forced 33 turnovers but managed just 15 points off the miscues as the Colonials outscored the Red Flash 7-0 over the final 2:25 to steal the win.

FIRST QUARTER RECAP
- Neither team shot well in the first with the score sitting at 5-4 SFU at the first media timeout, SFU started 1-9 and RMU 1-4
- The score stayed 5-4 for three minutes until a Karson Swogger (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) three answered a RMU bucket to make it 8-6 SFU
- A late Kovatch jumper made it 10-8 SFU
- The Red Flash forced 9 first quarter turnovers and led by two after the opening 10 minutes

SECOND QUARTER RECAP
- Kovatch got rolling with a pair of early threes in the quarter to pace SFU
- A Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) steal got Kovatch open for another
- Wynn then popped open for her own three to force an RMU timeout
- Kovatch's fifth three of the half gave her 20 in the half and sent SFU into the locker room up 28-25

THIRD QUARTER RECAP
- RMU scored the first six points of the half to take a three-point lead
- Kovatch then scored the next eight on her own including a three the hard way to give SFU a five-point advantage
- SFU would up the lead to eight on another Kovatch three and Kyasia Duling (Zanesville, Ohio/New Albany (Duquesne)) splitting a pair at the line
- The Colonials would not go away, cutting into the eight-point lead with four-straight
- The teams traded threes late and SFU forced a late turnover, their 26th forced of the game to lead by four heading into the fourth

FOURTH QUARTER RECAP
- RMU would cut the lead to two on an early bucket but back-to-back lay-ins by Kovatch pushed the lead to six
- The SFU defense held RMU scoreless for two minutes and a Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio/Bridgeport) three grew the lead to nine
- Out of the media timeout, RMU hit threes on back-to-back possessions to cut the SFU lead to three
- A Kovatch three off a Harrison screen stopped the RMU run and gave her 42 on the night and put the lead back to six
- Free throws cut the SFU lead to two and the SFU offense was held without a field goal for two minutes
- A Harrison missed three led to a scramble and gave RMU the ball down two with 17 seconds left
- A Megan Smith three with less than a second left gave RMU a 63-62 win
- Officials looked at the clock and put no time back on
- RMU outscored SFU 7-0 over the final 2:25
