SOMERSET, NJ- Saint Francis junior guard Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) has run her Northeast Conference Player of the Week streak to four as the New Jersey native was named Co-Player of the Week for her efforts against Mount Saint Mary's and Wagner.
 
Kovatch battled foul trouble all game on Saturday but saved her best for last as she hit a highlight-worthy three after she in-bounded it off a player's back late in the fourth quarter, then scored 10 of her 19 in overtime, including the team's final seven points. The junior also added eight rebounds in the 92-88 win, matching a career best.
 
On Monday night, Kovatch went for a game-high 32 in a tough road win at Wagner. Kovatch added four more three pointers giving her 74 on the season, a mark the leads the NEC and is better than 33 teams in the NCAA. The junior also added a game-high four steals for SFU to help them to 6-1 in the Northeast Conference. Kovatch is third in the NCAA in scoring at 23.9 points per game and third in the NCAA in threes per game at 3.89. Those numbers have been buoyed by a 31-points per game average and over 5 made threes per game in NEC play.
 
Kovatch and the Red Flash tip off a three-game home stand on Saturday when they welcome in Central Connecticut. Tip time between the Red Flash and Blue Devils is set for 2 p.m.
